As board certified pediatricians, we are comfortable managing your child’s ADHD medications. We do require that your child be evaluated by a licensed psychologist for a thorough evaluation prior to starting medication. We require that your child stay up to date with annual well visits, quarterly weight and blood pressure checks while on stimulant medication for their ADHD.

During your scheduled well visits, we will ask parents to fill out an Ages and Stages Developmental screening questionnaire. Your physician will use this questionnaire to determine if your child is developing on schedule. It is important to detect delays in your child’s development early, since the earlier your child receives help, the more effective the treatment.

6mo And Up

Vision photo screening is available 6 months of age and up. Our vision photo screening screens myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and gaze development. This screening process allows us to detect visual problems in your child at a much younger age. This is a huge advance in vision testing for young children.

The AAP now recommends fluoride varnish treatments to help prevent tooth decay or to slow down the progression of existing decay. Fluoride varnish cannot completely prevent cavities. Brushing regularly, getting regular dental care, and eating a healthy diet will also reduce tooth decay. We will be applying fluoride varnish to your child's teeth at your 12 month, 18 month and 2 year well visits. If your child is already seeing a dentist, fluoride varnish can be applied in a dental office instead.

We are excited to offer ear piercing with Blomdahl® USA medical ear piercing. Blomdahl® Medical Ear Piercing System has been designed from a medical standpoint, using modern technology and safe materials.

Ear deformities are prominent in newborns and must be corrected in the first 2 weeks of life for optimal results. Dr. Leslie Lestz uses the Ear Well Correction System which consists of plastic molds that are applied to the child’s ear to gently reshape the ear. Dr. Lestz has been trained by Dr. Steve Byrd, the inventor of the EarWell Correction System and is certified to treat your newborns ears.

We recommend yearly visits with your pediatrician to assess growth, development and general health. A sports physical is merely a subset of our full and comprehensive yearly well visits.

Our ImPact certified Pediatricians use the ImPact (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) model which is the most widely used and most scientifically validated computerized concussion evaluation system to make safe return to play decisions. This tool helps our pediatricians communicate post concussion status to athletes, parents, coaches, and clinicians.

The AAP now recommends cholesterol screening at ages 9-11 years and 15 years of age. We make this screening convenient for our patients with testing during the 10 year and 15 year preventative exam with immediate test results.
